The National Consultation on Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE) was held July 5-6 2017, in Ramallah, the State of Palestine.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) is a pioneer in life skills and citizenship education. Life skills are central to the Education Sector Development Plan 2014-2019, which calls for improving life skills teaching for students and enhancing programmes that support citizenship education.
The Consultation on LSCE built on this work and initiated the process of development of a joint roadmap for promoting LSCE in the State of Palestine through the engagement of all relevant partners with the leadership of the MOEHE. The Consultation harnessed expertise and resources across local and international NGOs, academics, educators, policy makers and international partners. It aimed at ensuring a common understanding guided by the LSCE Conceptual and Programmatic Framework (CPF), and supported the identification of programmatic avenues for the operationalization of the 12 core life skills through a multiple pathways and systems approach.
